Forensics Students Take Silver

Palmyra-Eagle students came away with Silver Awards at the Wisconsin High School State Forensics tournament on April 19. Sophomore Ian Dunn competed with a four minute speech about Rome, while Junior Lauren Kazinski competed in the Solo Acting-Serious category. Ian and Lauren were among students from roughly 400 schools across the state that participated in the tournament at the University of Wisconsin – Madison. The forensics competition in this case did not pit students against each other in debates; rather, students performed individually in categories including poetry, recreating a scene from a play, extemporaneous and informative speaking. Judges then rated student performance against a list of criteria.

Congratulations Academic Letter & Top Cat Award Winners!

Palmyra-Eagle Panthers academic letter and Top Cat Award winners were celebrated in an awards ceremony held April 17 at the Palmyra-Eagle High School. The criteria for students earning academic letters and Top Cat awards are defined by a cumulative point system. An honor point is awarded each semester to a student that is on the honor roll with a grade point average of 3.000-3.499. Students earning a 3.500 GPA or higher are awarded two honor points. Students who achieve six points are eligible for an academic letter while students earning at least 12 points are awarded a Top Cat pin.
